forever and ever, amen

The Drums!

On Sunday night I ventured into Byron Bay to hear NYC Indie band the drums perform at the Northern Hotel. My expectations were not especially high, although I love their recorded music, sometimes synth based bands can underperform live.

Fortunatly I was blown away by their live performance. Bucket loads of energy and swagger from front man Johnathan, coupled with a tight musical backing by his fellow drum band mates, made the set amazing.

Highlights of the evening,

‘Forever and ever, amen’, which may have been the moment when I fell headlong in love with Johnathon. Also ‘Money’, such a catchy little, lyrically smart number.
